Izmir NIC Project entrepreneurs met with Istanbul investors

Within the scope of 'Izmir NIC Corporate Cooperation Meetings' and 'Izmir NIC Interaction Meetings with Investors', selected technology-based startup and scaleup entrepreneurs came together with corporate companies and investors at Istanbul Dedeman Hotel on 17 May 2023. 

The meeting was attended by Gönül Kamalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of YASAD, Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu, General Manager of Teknopark İzmir, Sevilay Güven, Secretary General of YASAD, prominent representatives of the software and IT industry who mentored the entrepreneurs and many guests. Opening the all-day event, Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu, General Manager of Teknopark Izmir, said that Teknopark Izmir, which was established on an area of 6.5 hectares and located on the campus of Izmir Institute of Technology, is the center of attraction for the region's R&D-centered entrepreneurs. Sharing that nearly half of the member companies are from the software industry, Tanoğlu said that there are 202 active companies in the region, 335 projects are being carried out and 2725 projects have been completed so far. Tanoğlu added that the Izmir NIC Project is a role model. 

The Izmir NIC Project, which is within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and covers a period of 3 years, aims to ensure the commercialization and internationalization of innovative products. Within the scope of the event, 32 companies in the Accelerate Izmir Acceleration Program and 12 companies in the Technopark Izmir Incubation Center ClassBoom Acceleration Program were informed.
